Wood Farm Digester

The digester at Wood Farm now appears to be operational. Lorries with seeding material have been arriving, totalling around 30 in all. Screening hedging has now been planted and work on the clamp area is being finalised, although this will take a while yet to finish off.

The farm has stated that they do not intend to use feedstock from land which they do not farm, as they want to be self sufficient. However, I have to be honest and say that there are more than a few villagers who harbour lingering suspicions that it won’t be long before tractors and lorries start arriving from surrounding farms and villages with feedstock for the system. We shall see…….

Meantime, it would be churlish not to say a Well Done to Wood Farm for being “eco” and investing in a digester to provide their electricity. These things are not cheap.
