Well, some significant progress at The Duncombe Arms. On Tuesday last week the new Duncombe Arms sign was installed on the top of the new oak post that has been erected in the village car park in front of the pub. A beautifully painted Duncombe family coat of arms in red, gold, white and black.
In addition a new black and gold painted sign stating “The Duncombe Arms” along with the sub-line “Free house and restaurant”, has been put at the top of the dutch table at the front where the old plaster coat of arms used to be. So we are definitely getting there.
In addition this has scotched the rumours that the pub was going to be reopened under a new name.
