An Art Exhibition In Aid of the Friends of St James

The Friends of St James have invited twelve artists connected to Waresley to put on an exhibition and sale of their recent work. It will be held on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th October at the Church in Waresley, between 10am and 4pm.

The artists are mostly local to Waresley and Great Grandsen, and this is the first chance to see their work together as one collection. There will be over sixty pieces on display in a wide variety of styles to suit all tastes and pockets. These range from contemporary loose oils and acrylics to the classical watercolours.

We are also asking local children to participate in a competition of their paintings based on the four churches within the group parish. The paintings will be displayed alongside the exhibition and prizes will be awarded accordingly.

Having an opportunity to draw local people is another of the activities that will happen during the exhibition. We are asking children to join in and take the opportunity to draw. This portrait masterclass will be led by Francesca Gagni on Saturday 17th in two sessions, 2pm to 3pm and 3pm to 4pm. Prior booking is advisable, so please call Charmian on 07856 224027. There will be a charge £ 2 and all drawing materials will be supplied.

The exhibition is being held in the aid of the Friends of St James. So come along and view. The entrance charge is £ 2 per adult and children free. Tea/coffee and cakes will be available.

All are most welcome.
