A428 Upgrade

As you will probably know, the enquiry into the initial proposals for the A428 upgrade has now closed. The general consensus of opinion from organisations such as the Wildlife Trust, the Greensand Ridge Country Landscape Partnership, the Campaign for the Protection of Rural England and some other organisations was that the only viable route is the orange route. We also received support for this from the Road Haulage Association and our local MP, Jonathan Djanogly said that virtually every constituent who contacted him on the matter had overwhelmingly been in favour of the orange route.

We now await for the decision of Highways England’s project team to issue their findings on the preferred route which should happen later this summer, or early autumn.

More anon….
