The Duncombe Arms & Turpin’s Brewery

The Duncombe Arms has recently been stocking one or more beers made by Turpin’s Brewery. This is an independent microbrewery situated in the Cambridge area and it was set up in 2014 by Marcus Turpin to supply Cambridgeshire and the surrounding areas with quality local beer. It has been going from strength to strength and, as it is now at our local pub, I felt that I should write a few words as it is a small local company brewing excellent beer and deserves the support of the local community.

The Duncombe Arms has recently been stocking three types of beer from Turpin’s Brewery:

Dragon’s Den Golden Ale. At 3.9% and a light amber colour, this is a citrusy beer with a dry hoppy flavour.

Meditation Pale Ale. At 4.3% a good, easy drinking, typical modern British beer with a hint of the popular citrus. This has been selling very well.

True Blue Best Bitter.  At 3.9% this is a classic bitter. Easy drinking, modern, a slightly fruity beer with a slight citrusy finish.

Well, this is a big step forward for the DA and its new owners. Some really good local beer to go with the local produce that they are using in their menu. “Meditation” has been re-stocked but I know they will be trying some other beers soon, so pop in and see what’s on.
