Although not really Waresley news, I felt I had to add a comment on the news that Ian & Terri Selkirk are looking to sell the Crown & Cushion in Great Gransden, our neighbouring village.
Ian & Terri transformed the pub after it went through a long period of uncertainty. Indeed, it looked as though it would definitely close at one point. However, after Ian bought the pub they set about refurbishing it and, by rejuvenating the longstanding live music tradition and introducing Terri’s fantastic Indonesian home cooking, revitalised it so that it was once again a delightful country pub in a charming and vibrant village.
Let us hope that the new owners, who ever they may be, continue in the same vein.
Meanwhile we wish Terry & Ian a comfortable and restful retirement.
